Veronica Sinclair was the granddaughter of Debra Sinclair (the original Roulette) - an old adversary of the original Mister Terrific, and Ned Sloane, his brother. Veronica believes Terry Sloane to be her grandfather, rather than great-uncle, and sees the current Mister Terrific as an unworthy successor.
Roulette is Veronica's persona which she uses for her casino ("The House"). "The House" is a superhuman gladiatorial arena, capturing heroes with teleporter technology similar to Holt's T-Spheres, force field technology, and sometimes mind control technology, and pitting them against each other, while various super villains bet on the outcome.
